Registration of Web Sites

If Power Shift registers my domain name, am I locked into having Power Shift host my site?
No. When Power Shift registers your domain name, it is registered in your name. You can move your site, any time you wish. Keeping it with PShift offers you some advantages, though:
  1. Convenience in Billing: PShift's bills include all of our services, so, you only pay one bill per month when we register and host your domain.
  2. Convenience in Renewal: PShift automatically renews your domain, unless you notify us that you do not want us to. Then, we simply include the renewal fee in your next bill.
How long does it take?
The initial registration is almost instantaneous. It does take some time to get the domain into our DNS, and for that DNS addition to propagate through the rest of the Internet, though. Up to a week, is possible (usually not more than 3 days, though).
How much space do I get when I register with PShift
This depends on which hosting plan you sign up for. Registration is only the reservation of a name; hosting is what provides the space.
Can I host a domain with PShift that I have already registered elsewhere?
Absolutely! You just need to change the DNS Server information with whichever registrar you registered with.
Can I switch a domain over to PShift so I just get one bill?
Absolutely! Most registrars, though, will not release a domain to another one if the domain is within 30 days of renewal, so, you'll want to plan around this.
